Being back in Euphoria was like being back in hell for Katherine; her bandmates were wary of her, since the stunt she tried to pull with leaving and the fact that some - or most - of them knew about her interests outside of the band, and the media was swarming at the fact that she had returned and trying to find some dirt behind the matter, which she tried to hide on a daily basis. Sure, not everything was bad - she had Milo, but she still couldn't see him in public just yet. They had to maintain their distance and put on a front, as usual... what else was new?
Of course, all of this was hella depressing to Katherine. Who wouldn't be depressed if they were in her shoes? So, she decided that today, she would get out; get out of the caravan and go somewhere else where it was possible to try and forget all of the negatives of this place, and reinforce the positives.
She had decided on the Beach, seeing how it was quiet and always serene with the oceanic atmosphere and all. Katherine had been here before when she needed time for herself; it was a sheer lifesaver, in other words.
Now walking on sandy ground, feet baren to the sands and flip flops in hand, just in case, Katherine began to search out the perfect place to chill out for a bit. Hair up in a messed bun, she was clad in a bikini-top and ripped jeans, sunglasses hiding her eyes.
Spotting a open area in the sunlight which was close to the ocean, seemingly perfect, Katherine walked over to it and laid down her beach towel, spreading it over the sand and laying her shoes upon it. She sat down, indian-style, and sighed, closing her eyes and taking in the heat on her skin and the sounds and smells on the beach.
It was breathtaking.

With signals that Remy sending was, Alejandra was deeply confused about things between the two of them. She was certain of her crush on him but she still could not decipher if he felt the same. It was definitely frustrating to her. She had to get out.
The boys were rehearsing all day so her services were not needed today. Remy was out photographing shots all day and would be not back until later in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day and she wanted to take advantage of it than staying cooped up inside a caravan all day.
She decided that the best remedy for this was a day to herself at the beach. Living on the West Coast she'd try to go to the beach often as her schedule allowed it, even if it was a forty-five minute to one hour drive from home.
Now sitting on her large turquoise colored beach towel, iPod set to a moderate volume, and a book in hand that she was currently reading which at the moment was Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. She was clad in brown halter bikini top and a short white tiered stitch design and lace trim hem. She had her flip flops off to the side. She wore sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun.
She immersed herself in the soothing sounds of the seagulls calling and the waves slowly crashing into the surf. It was relaxing and she was going to soak up the sun a bit to bronze her fair complexion a bit.

Katherine glanced to the side of her shoulder, letting her collarbone be warmed by the sun's rays. She spotted another person was on the beach with her - and it was a girl. Thank the gods. If it were a photog or a guy, she would have had a literal cow. The first thing that stood out about the girl was, well - turquoise. Big, turquoise towel. It was almost as bright as the sun, simply beaming despite the sunglasses that Katherine wore. She liked the color, though.
Katherine pouted as she looked at the girl. She was so kicked back and relaxed! That was what Katherine decided to come and do, but - there was no way she was as relaxed as this girl before her. And, now knowing that she wasn't alone, she craved company. Also, the girl looked awfully familiar - she wasn't in a band though, she knew that. Perhaps, she was a band assistant?
Her labeling didn't matter much to Katherine, anyway - she just wanted to talk to her, regardless. Since the drama, Katherine hadn't been able to talk to one of her own species, aka gender, in such a long-ass time. She missed being able to talk with friends.
With that, she got up from her perching, picked up her towel and flip-flops, and headed towards the girl. "Hey - I couldn't help but notice that you are so kicked back right now, and dude - I wanted to know if you could teach me the way of kicking back, because... this grasshopper is looking to lay back and relax." Katherine looked down at the girl, laughing slightly and sticking out her tounge, hitting her forehead. "Heheh - pardon my inner cheesiness... I haven't been able to be this cheesy in a while. Do you mind if I join you, dear?"

Alejandra lifted her head from her book and peered her eyes over her sunglasses seeing she was no longer alone. She gave the girl a small smile. The girl looked awfully familiar and she believed she had seen her on stage if she was not mistaken.
She could've sworn she was the only person sitting in the spot that she had laid down her towel on, but she did not mind the company. "No, not at all. Its a public beach and I don't mind the company or a friendly face." She put her put down her book, marking the page with a bookmark, placed it to the side. "It is a really a gorgeous day in New York City, isn't it? I definitely had to take advantage of it." She removed her earbuds from her ears, shutting her iPod off and placed it to the side with her book.
The waves out on the water were quite active creating a tide that made the water recede on the shore about five or six feet away from Alejandra and Katherine. At some point, Ali knew she would have to move farther up on the beach or she'd get her stuff and towel wet. The sea spray smelled wonderful. The East Coast was definitely different from the West and she enjoyed it.

The kicked back girl gave Katherine a small smile as she took a look at her through her sunglasses as Katherine had done not that long ago. Upon seeing the small smile, Katherine had hoped that was a sign that she was approved for company.
"No, not at all. Its a public beach and I don't mind the company or a friendly face." Inside, Katherine was contemplating a victory dance or something of the like, but she kept the urge down with much of her might. Katherine beamed as the girl put down her book, marking the page where she left off and putting it aside. Katherine noted the book she was reading was Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer - Katherine was reading the exact same book at the moment, as well, but hadn't got the chance to dive into it too much as work kept her away from leisure. But, rest assured, when given the chance, her nose was buried within the pages.
"It is a really a gorgeous day in New York City, isn't it? I definitely had to take advantage of it." Katherine looked back to the girl, who was taking the earbuds of her Ipod from her ears and turning the Ipod off, setting it aside with the book as well. Seeing the Ipod brought Katherine memories of her own Ipod; since the unpacking of her things, she had lost it within the piles of her belongings... for all she knew, it could have ended up being Chill's new chewtoy. "Yes, it is, amazingly! After all this stormy weather we've been having, I was suprised that I made it this long without getting rained on!" Katherine laughed and shook her head, looking out over the ocean waters.
"I couldn't help but notice you're reading that book, there... Twilight... I am reading the exact same book right now! I haven't had the chance to finish it yet since I've been busy, but I am so hooked on it! It's plain 'mazing! Are you a fan of it, too?" Katherine pointed to the girl's book, smiling at the thought of its contents. Gah, Twilight - so far, she was rooting for Jacob all the way.

Alejandra looked down at her book then back up at Katherine with a small sideways smirk. She had to laugh because everyone she knew was hooked on Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. "I am getting quite hooked on it. It's quite awesome. I can't put it down. Edward Cullen...sheer dreaminess."
"Yes, it is, amazingly! After all this stormy weather we've been having, I was suprised that I made it this long without getting rained on!" Ali had to agree about that as she would get stuck cooped up in the caravan. Even though it would be an excuse to hang out with Remy. "And about the weather...I'd definitely agree with you there. The weather had been quite shitty so I was quite pleased to get a clear and sunny day. Also gave me an excuse to get some sun on this alabaster complexion of mine."
Alejandra pushed her sunglasses up and over her head smoothing her hair back, to get a better look at the newcomer. "I couldn't help but notice but aren't you in the band Sighted South? The drummer?"

Upon seeing the girl's almost immediate smirk, Katherine guessed that she had met another vampiric love/soap opera junkie. "I am getting quite hooked on it. It's quite awesome. I can't put it down. Edward Cullen...sheer dreaminess." Katherine giggled a bit, shaking her head and sighing, batting her lashes jokingly behind her shades. "Dude, same here all the way. I wish I didn't have to put it down, cause believe me - if I didn't half to, I wouldn't... but, work calls, so, I must. Ah, yes - the boys of Twilight are yummy. I can't pick between them all - but, Jacob Black is ahead in my book, as of now."
"And about the weather...I'd definitely agree with you there. The weather had been quite shitty so I was quite pleased to get a clear and sunny day. Also gave me an excuse to get some sun on this alabaster complexion of mine." "But of course! It's like the sun's been away on a all-paid vacation... but, it feels good to be reunited." And, that it did - the sun felt wonderful. Not hot enough to melt your face off, yet not weak enough like it was in the wintertime. It was just right, and pleasing.
"I couldn't help but notice but aren't you in the band Sighted South? The drummer?" Katherine smirked at the question, figuring that introductions would be coming up sooner or later. "Yeah, I go by that alias - but, most kids know me as Katherine Rivera..." She shrugged, and then held up the peace sign while she introduced herself, mimicing that of a japanese person. She then held out her hand to the girl, copycatting her action of removing her shades. "Or, Kat, if you'd like. And, you are? You look awfully familiar, too, but I don't believe I have seen you on stage before... behind the scenes, perhaps?"

"Alejandra Rios, but everyone calls me Ali." Alejandra shook Katherine's hand gently and gave her a warm smile. "Very nice to meet you, Kat." "Or, Kat, if you'd like. And, you are? You look awfully familiar, too, but I don't believe I have seen you on stage before... behind the scenes, perhaps?" "Yes, I work behind the scenes. I am actually the make-up artist for the Shake It Ups. Just me and a group of teenage boys." She had to laugh because it was just her and the boys...and Remy who at given though made her smile inwardly.
At thought of Remy at the moment, it made her somewhat frustrated because she still did not know what they were yet. She could not make heads or tails of any type of signal he was sending her. He was always friendly, sweet, and playful with her but she did not know if it was him flirting or his way of showing that he liked her. It drove her crazy sometimes. Being away from the caravan for the day was helpful though but even though she was away she still could not keep her mind off of him.

"Alejandra Rios, but everyone calls me Ali." The now-known Ali took a hold of Katherine's hand and gave it a light shake, sealing the deal with a warm smile. Katherine returned the warm smile and shake, alike. "Nice to meet you too, Ali - and I love the name, by the way. I take it your Spanish, if you don't mind me asking?" The exotic last name sounded to be Spanish, if Katherine wasn't mistaken. If she was - then, she would just come off as an ass and probably be lightly scolded for it. She cursed herself inwardly at asking the question, but it was too late to take it back now.
"Yes, I work behind the scenes. I am actually the make-up artist for the Shake It Ups. Just me and a group of teenage boys." Katherine smirked and giggled at the way Ali had used her words. "Hahaha - hmmm. The way you say it sounds mischevious, Ali..." Katherine paused and winked at Ali. "But, seriously, that sounds like a cool job. I love messing with my makeup and hair - AND wow. Something just hit me! Lame, I know, but - you do make-up... on boys. Sister... how do you do it?" Katherine laughed. "You make them simply radiant - from repulsive to attractive!"
"How do you deal with all that testosterone, though, dear? I'd die after a few months..." Katherine winced at the idea of being surrounded by nothing but men for the whole tour. Clearly, a little bit of female needed to be added into the mix... at least, for her to be sane. She had mad respect for this girl, already!

Ali smiled as the two of them introduced themselves. "Nice to meet you too, Ali - and I love the name, by the way. I take it your Spanish, if you don't mind me asking?" "Thank you. And yes, I am Spanish. I am of Argentinian and Mexican descent but born and raised in San Francisco."
"Hahaha - hmmm. The way you say it sounds mischevious, Ali..." "Not really...but there is a guy...not in the band though. He also works behind the scenes, photographer to be exact." "But, seriously, that sounds like a cool job. I love messing with my makeup and hair - AND wow. Something just hit me! Lame, I know, but - you do make-up... on boys. Sister... how do you do it?""You make them simply radiant - from repulsive to attractive!" "I've got skills..." Alejandra laughed. "Seriously I love working with make-up and making others look beautiful. My dream is to work as a make-up artist for Hollywood and work with actors."
"How do you deal with all that testosterone, though, dear? I'd die after a few months..." "It has only been a little over a month but it is seriously a lot of patience and more so when you have a crazy little brother type like Sebastian Howard wreaking havoc at the merch tables and being up to no good," Alejandra laughed. "It's a lot of fun working with them though. It has really been a learning experience so far."

"Thank you. And yes, I am Spanish. I am of Argentinian and Mexican descent but born and raised in San Francisco." Katherine thanked the lord that she was right on her assumption about Ali's possibility of being Spanish. It sounded like Ali had quite the rich heritage; Katherine found this intriguing about her."Not really...but there is a guy...not in the band though. He also works behind the scenes, photographer to be exact." Not really? Very. A photog and a make-up artist - the perfect partners in beautifying crime. It sounded beautifully mischevious to Katherine. She raised her brow at Ali, smirking a bit. "Hmmm... sounds hella mischevious to me, Ali" Katherine laughed lightly and winked again.
"I've got skills..." / "Seriously I love working with make-up and making others look beautiful. My dream is to work as a make-up artist for Hollywood and work with actors." "Shit, I believe you - you make it sounds so indulgent... damn, you've got me jealous of what you do. What kind of things do you like doing with makeup?"

You seem quite sane to me, so, I must give you mad props for maintaining your state of mind when around boys most of your days!"

"Hmmm... sounds hella mischevious to me, Ali" Ali blushed lightly at Katherine's comment. "Well, maybe a little,"Ali laughed. "But it's complicated." It was very complicated because they were just friends but Ali hoped for maybe more?
"Shit, I believe you - you make it sounds so indulgent... damn, you've got me jealous of what you do. What kind of things do you like doing with makeup?" Ali laughed. "It is seriously a creative pleasure for me I guess. The kind of things I like doing with makeup is blending different hues and creating new shades for eyeshadows. I love working with shimmery stuff and blending different shades to create wicked lip color," Ali smiled.
"Well, that's good, then. You seem quite sane to me, so, I must give you mad props for maintaining your state of mind when around boys most of your days!" "They can drive me somewhat batty but that's when the photographer comes into play."
