alright so that lil picture thingy got me into the mood to find a picta and make a little story thingy. It's gushy and pretty damn sucky, but here it is. please comment
Melissa sat on top of her apartment building, beer bottle at hand. She took one last long swig of her drink before dropping it into the abyss of the night air, hearing it crash to the ground only seconds later. She took a deep breath and stood up, holding her arms out to steady herself, at least for the moment. For a second, she reached back to touch the wings on her back. She stretched her arms back out as thunder clapped above her from the heavens in which she would never be accepted into. Melissa wasn’t even sure if they’re was a heaven, but if there was, and if everything her stupid step-mom had said was true, then she would surely never see it. She walked along the edge contemplating why she was doing this. Her dad was dead, her retarded and faithful step-mom seemed to hate her, and her best friend Adrian, the one she loved so much, wouldn’t even as so much look at her anymore. And after the fight they had had almost two weeks ago, she was sure he would never again. Her lips curled into a cruel smile. That last thing he would see would be her body, broken and bloody on the hard concrete below her. Melissa’s smile faded from her at that thought. She cursed aloud at herself. She still loved him, she needed him and wanted him. She shook her head harshly. Adrian didn’t love her though. He never had. She took another deep breath and stopped pacing on her tiptoes and took a step forward, letting her toes curl around the edge of the building.
“Melissa! Stop!” a voice shouted out from behind her, out of breath and desperate sounding. Melissa turned around to see a familiar face. It was Adrian. She was tempted to rush to his arms bawling, but held back and glared at him instead.
“Why should I?” she asked him, a streak of lightning running through the clouds, so she could see him wince at the cruelty in her voice. “How did you…?” she started off, curious to how he had found out about the whole thing.
“I went to your house.” He panted, still sounding painfully desperate. “I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I just…” Adrian dropped his hands to his sides, his black hair falling over his green eyes as he lowered his head. “Please don’t do this, Melissa. I need you. I… I love you, Melissa.” He finished, raising his head to look into Melissa’s bright blue eyes.
Melissa glared at him again. “I don’t believe you.” She spat out to him, another streak of lightning flashing through the sky. “Prove it.” Melissa spat out again, taking another step so that half of her feet were off the edge.
With that, Adrian walked up to the side of the roof, his shoes clunking as they made their was to the edge of the roof. “If you fall I fall.” He stated, looking into her eyes again, his own sincere. Melissa saw it. He was in pain.
A quiver in her voice, Melissa spoke up. “I still don’t believe you.” She said again, tears spilling out of her eyes as she took her foot off the roof. Adrian grabbed Melissa, pulling her away from the edge and kissing her, wrapping his arms around her waist. He pulled his lips away from her, his forehead pressed against hers.
“Do you believe me now?” Adrian asked her seriously as the rain began to fall. Melissa could only nod in response to him. “I love you.” He said to her, kissing her again, his lips needy and soft against hers.
This time, Melissa kissed him back. She pulled herself away from his embrace and wiped the fallen tears from her eyes. “I love you too.” She said, her voice cracked and barely a whisper. She buried her head in his chest and started to cry, scared of herself for trying to jump off the roof.
“Shh…” Adrian said to her, caressing his hand over her head. “It’s alright now. You’re safe.” Added, hugging her closer to him. “Everything’s okay now.”
Melissa lifted her head from his chest and for the first time in over a month, truly smiled. “I know.” She replied, kissing him again. “I know.”
