DETAILED
Synesthetic
When Ben was about fourteen years old, she was diagnosed with having broadband sound → color synesthesia. This roughly means that any sounds she hears will translate to a certain colour. For example; Drums will always be red, A certain person speaking may always be dark blue, while another person could be yellow. Ben's not very good at blocking this and can sometimes faint due to what she calls an 'overload.' It doesn't affect her in any other ways however, she's just as intelligent and normal as the next person.
Moody
Ben's moods change rapidly from minute-to-minute. One moment she'll be incredibly happy with someone, the next she'll be throwing a temper tantrum in their face. You can usually tell when Ben's about to have an outburst, due to the fact that she'll start tapping on things.
Tough-Skinned
Ben is an incredibly tough-skinned girl. Since her parents divorce and her mother moving away, Ben's learned how to fold inside herself, and hardly ever lets anybody in. She'll often pretend to tell people her problems, and get on their good side, only to rip it right out from under them when they need her the most.
Fiercely Protective
Once Ben finds someone that she cares for, she's protective to the point where it's overbearing. This can be an incredibly annoying trait, as she doesn't need for people to be protective of her, but she feels the constant need to make sure they're alright.
Manipulative
Ben plays all her roles incredibly well. She can be the innocent, naive girl, the smart and opinionated one, hell, she can be absolutely anything. Ben prides herself on her ability to change her outer personality at will, even though she's incredibly ugly on the inside.
Arrogant
Ben's of the opinion that she's better than everybody around her. She doesn't vocalize this and risk getting in trouble, but you can see through her actions that this girl's got a major superiority complex. All she needs is someone to come along and knock her off her high-horse, and bring her back down to everybody else's level.

Ben usually judges people on what colour she sees their voice as being. This is usually unfair, as she often does it without even speaking to the person, and also because someone who has a dark color may not necessarily be bad, and vice versa.

Underneath it all, Ben is actually an intelligent girl. She prefers to keep quiet about this however, and use her intelligence to surprise people, and get away with things under other people's noses.

Ben uses any means to get what she wants. She can play the seductive role oh-so-well and is often called a tease because of that fact.

EYES A startling grey, Ben's eyes are usually blank and don't convey any emotion. She sometimes uses coloured contacts, usually in varying shades of green and blue, but not often.
HAIR Depending on the hair dye Ben uses, Her hair colour changes weekly. Sometimes it's a lovely chocolate brown, other times it's reddish-orange, sometimes even blonde.

THE HURRICANE I'LL NEVER OUTRUN
Ben was born on the thirtieth of August to Echo and Marcus Lockley. It would be a nice thing to say that the couple couldn't have been happier, but truthfully? The mother was drunk and the father was off in Japan on business. It was a shame really, the kid could've grown up to be nice and loving if her parents hadn't set such a wonderful example for their daughter to follow.
The Lockeley's were a wealthy family, that's for sure, and Ben grew up getting everything she could ever need, or want, causing her to become spoiled and selfish.
As she grew up, Ben started to realise that certain things that she saw, her parents didn't. Whenever she tried to explain this to them however, the brushed it off as it being a product of their child wild imagination. Ben grew into a very inquisitive toddler, constantly annoying her parents with her need to take things apart and re-piece them.
WE ARE THE SAME BLOOD
Let's skip forward a bit, shall we? Ben's now thirteen, she's seen as being a lovely young kid in school, high grades, perfect attendance, all that jazz. But underneath was a spoiled little girl, self-centered and arrogant and just generally horrible. It was then, one day in high school, when she met her future best friend. While absentmindedly throwing paper airplanes around in math, she happened to hit the one and only Reagan Delcambre. Apart from the many fights that they had, they developed a strong (yet highly dysfunctional) friendship and from then on were practically attached at the hip. He was the only person she ever told about her synesthesia, although she would never let on what colour her friend was.
CHEAP CHAMPAGNE, WE'RE GOING DOWN IN FLAMES
When Ben was sixteen, she was finally diagnosed with having Synesthesia. While she was somewhat relieved at now being able to name what she had, her parents were horrified. Their perfect daughter didn't seem to be so perfect after all. Although her parents wouldn't let on, the diagnosis was the final straw on the camels back, and the already fighting couple split. Ben never let on that she was hurt, preferring to opt for indifference, forcing it all inside. Her mother left late that night, giving Ben an ultimatum. go with her or stay with her father.
Right. Tough choice. Ben chose her mother, but only for the sole reason that she was easy to manipulate. She left that night, not even saying goodbye to anyone she knew.
She'd never admit it, but this ultimately pushed her over the edge, and the last shred of decency in the girl was gone.
BRIGHTER THAN THE STARS IN MY EYES
Ben spent the next few years mooching off her mother, who was still wealthy from after the divorce. She got into alcohol, and was out partying practically every night. She dropped out of school, much to her mothers disapproval, and spent her days out with her so called 'friends.'
HOLDING ON IN A NEW DIRECTION
Skip forward again, Ben's twenty. Realising that she couldn't mooch off her stupid mother forever, and that this wasn't what she wanted to be doing for the rest of her life, Ben enrolled in a mechanics and technical course down at the local community center. She was amazed to find that she was a natural at it, and started to make a name for herself in the music industry, fixing technical difficulties and the like. After a long internal debate, Ben decided to give up on alcohol, seeing how weak it made her mother was just about enough for her.
At work one day, one of the staff at a familiar nightclub contacted her, telling her that one of the bands on euphoria needed a tech kid to fill in for the duration of the music festival. Thinking that she'd do anything to get away from her mother, and that a change of scenery might be a nice thing for her, Ben promptly accepted the job offer, packed up her things and left.
