Up until Euphoria started, Sighted South were a relatively unknown band from Las Vegas. Consisting of six members, this loud techno/dance group is now more widely known for their rivalry with band scheduled nurse. Sighted South's youngest member, rhythm guitarist Katarina Peterson was only too happy to come and talk to us about Euphoria!
So, Is Euphoria good this year? How are you liking it so far?
Euphoria is the shizz. Kay, I love this festival. I used to go and see it. But now, it's like my chance to be like an idol. I love the hype and I think it's amazing. I love it, I mean my favorite people are here. It's fun, and god! Some of the fans, they are so rock'n roll. It makes me happy. Like it's not all pictures, but they ask about me. And we hang out, so it's pree' cool.
Favorite people? Met anyone on the tour that's struck your fancy?
Favorite people? Yes, of course. I have Gabe, I love him. He's my babe. We're not dating, if fans want to know. They never know, one day a "win a date," shall come up. Anyways, Locky is my favourite person, I know. I love him, I mean really. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he's a great guy, and I hope our future will be good. And our relationship, I'm fixing it. And I hope he sees this. I LOVE YOU LOCKY! Um, Holiday, Alex, Milo, and Katherine are probably the most fucking lovely people ever.
Sounds like a lot of fun. Anyone get up to any crazy antics on tour?
Yeah, there's alot of funny junk going on. Me and Katherine have just about spent all our money on clothes. Um, me and Gabe played a trick on Jason and he got locked out of the caravan. -Laughs- We let him after, he was in his boxers. I totally embarrassed Gabe, while grocery shopping. I kept singing. REAL LOUD. Anyways, yeah. You might want to ask Gabe about some of our pranks.
Oh, I'll be sure to! How do you deal with the sudden fame Euphoria's gotten your band?
Wow, it's great. We're meeting these great fans. I love it. Um, it's a little hard, since the buzz isn't all that great. Like me and Gabe are always like being picked on. Because I tend to forget, I'm actually in the public's eye. I'm not in Las Vegas. And that as well, me and people's relationships include really like other people. It's causing problems. But I think I'll be alright. I have everyone I need. And I'd like to thank all my fans, especially those ones that come up and say "KATYYYYY!" And hug me, I love it.
Talking about causing problems, resident gossip columnist roxanne has been posting certain things about you on her blog. Care to shed any light on that subject?
Okay, Roxanne is cruel. She doesn't know me, I don't associate with people like that. She's going get sued. So watch it, honey - and wait for the papers. Me and Milo are not couple. She is wrong about certain things. I was drunk, I know that's no excuse. But I did sex with him. And I regret it, because I did it for the wrong reasons. I've recently learned, that sex is to be valued. And it should be with someone you love. Deeply. And I don't like that she's exposing this, because seriously get a life. And stop meddling into mine.
Harsh words. Speaking of Milo Martin, How goes the feud between Sighted South and Scheduled Nurse?
Oh, it's just getting worse. And it's not between our bands. It's just Gabe and Milo. People who've seen me and Locky together, they know we love each other and it's a rough patch right now. I love him, I could never fight with him. Like he is so important. This is getting me all choked up. But when we first dating, I wasn't smart on my choices. I had issues, and I hit Locky, he never left me though. And like he supports a lot. Not now, but yeah. And like Katherine, people can see there's something on with her and Milo. And to me, this is big. I think she likes him. And me and Alex are good friends. I'm grateful for him. Though merches really don't get it.
Well, While were on this topic, are there any rumors that you'd like to clear up for us? There's a lot circulating about various bands and members on Euphoria.
Ha, thought never ask. Okay, me and Gabe are NOT dating. I love this kid, I used to love him, alot. But if you see pictures, one of us is probably really drunk, and Gabe means alot and so does our friendship. Um, I did hurt Locky, and I know you Locky fan girls - you guys see the webcam pictures. The naughty ones too. But yeah, you guys hate me. But know I love him. Alex and I are a couple. There was chemistry once, but there's some else in his heart right now. I WILL NEVER LOVE MILO. HE IS JUST A FRIEND. Um, that's about it.
Locky fan girls? [laughs] Had any strange fan encounters while on Euphoria?
For sure. Um, there was fan guy named Derek, who took me to a highschool party. It was so much fun. I got crazy drunk. He's so nice, and of course Derek is like on myspace - THE FRIENDS ONLY. Oh, and there's another time, I got asked out by a whole bunch of fan boys and we went chocolate pudding paintballing. It where you chuck chocolate pudding at kids. It's hilarious. Um, Gabe's great stories. Though um, a lot fan encounters, have got police files to them.
Sounds like mad fun, You guys sure do get up to some crazy stunts! If you could only use five words to describe your personality, what do you think they'd be?
Wow. Um, spontaneous, crazy, loving, shallow, and happy.
And maybe even bitchy.
